COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

Business for Social Responsibility-Northwest (BSR-NW). 1998-present BSR is a non-profit business association that promotes positive business practices in alignment with the environment, equity and community development.

Executive committee member. Responsibilities include coordinating website development for BSR and developing public service announcements around BSR principles to be aired on KMHD radio station.

Environmental Management Systems Users Group (EMSUG). 1997-present EMSUG’s mission is to promote the use of environmental management systems sustainable business development. It is composed primarily of professional environmental managers and consultants.

Co-created charter and purpose of the organization. Researched and presented various topics of discussion, including tools for Life Cycle Analysis and my research regarding ISO 14001 accreditation differences and their influences on registrar practice and organizational behavior.

All People’s College. 1999-present The All People's college is a holistic educational center designed to interactively teach and enact sustainable development concepts. Founded by Bob Luitweiller, originator of SERVAS (presently a 10,000 person organization dedicated to world peace through home visitation from diverse cultures)

Advisory committee member. Periodically review concepts and policy regarding the establishment of the college.

Multi-State Working Group (MSWG). 1998-present The MSWG is a group of environmental professional and governmental policy makers to develop and influence ISO 14001 policy in order to improve its reliance as an environmental tool.

Advisory committee member. Periodically participate in discussions regarding accreditation and registrar findings.

The Sustainable Project Exchange (SPEx) 2000-present SPEx is a series of instructional courses designed to support the efforts of individuals implementing sustainability projects within their organizations
